9 day EMA (Exponential Moving Average) often acts as support for
stocks that are uptrending and resistance for stocks that are
downtrending. When trading over shorter time periods and
following the trend, whether it be up or down knowing where the 9
is can be very important for entry and exit points on your trade.
The 20 day and 50 day also act in the same way but those are
longer term and can signal the change of a longer term trend when
crossed.

I think you are referring to the Demark Wave signal. 9 is potential trend exhaustion signal.

yes on the 120 min QQQ the 9 was a Demark - best to just read about it. 9 and 13 are kind of the important numbers folks follow
