DVAX - Chart Link- went fast, I did not play
it, I think Steve played pre market, many times he buys stocks pre
market if they have strong vol
guys best if your to add the trade ideas to your watchlist at
night, then get up early, well before the bell opening, see what's
taking volume so you can focus on those, and buy early pre market
at times if you see opportunities. Again this is for day traders
not folks working jobs.
otherwise just saying, you will do best as a trader, even a
swing trader if you setup your watchlist at night, write down some
notes, and in the morning early look at what's moving and make some
decisions then.
Medved is a free program I like for watchlists - I like the
volume % column, you need to add it as it's not on there by
default. You can see GRIL trading at 140% relative volume
already, and when the market opened it was already trading at 50%.
This also hooks up to IB and other trading platforms, you can
even place trades through it. anyway I add all my setups to
this at night, takes me 5 min. You don't have to use this program,
but use something, add the trade ideas to your watchlist, spend 10
- 15 min at night to prepare for the next day
Medved quotes showing the Trade Ideas and Volume % column
again it's a nice problem if you want to filter down the number
of ideas we have, just focus only on the ones taking the
highest volume - again it's a way to filter out the sheer number of
ideas we put out if you need to
Here you go - shows long - DVT is 3000 basically. See the
vertical line, that was put in automatically. also the fast
BPT MA went green. Also MACD trying to bounce near the zero
level

Matt, thanks for the Medved mention. It was one of my favorite quote platforms, and I thought they had gone out of business. Guess I will subscribe!

Matt what do you use

Matt what do you use as a data source for Medved? I'm trying TD Ameritrade, but the Vol % isn't showing up on anything but SPY.
Thanks for sharing Matt!
