Example of a long setup tonight

as you know I allowed you to see some of my charts via Zoom today.

so here's one of the main setups I look for. Again this setup is fractal so could be any time frame from daily, 240 min, 120 min, 60, 30, 15, 5 etc

the setup I look for is: I see a pullback that causes the moving average ribbons to pinch. In this case I'm looking at a 5 min ES chart (left chart). I don't trigger off that, I look at a smaller time frame for a trigger - in this case I see on the 1 min the cycle buy indicator, I then go long off a candlestick and place a stop below the cycle indicator.   Again this example shows a 5 min then triggering off a 1 min. The time frames like I said do not matter, it could be a weekly then triggering off a daily, or a 60 min then triggering off a 15 min, doesn't matter. The charts I showed today on the ZOOM have these indicators on them - that's the setups I look for

    last night I showed the

last night I showed the 5 min and 1 min ES trigger

well here's a short example this morning, had a bearish MA pinch/squeeze on the 30 min ES chart, then you had a short trigger off the faster 15 min or 10 min ES charts from the cycle dots. Again that setup is fractal - it's the same setup regardless of time frames, could be a weekly and daily, or daily and 120 min or a 5 min and 1 min, whatever

    here's 60 and 30 min

here's 60 and 30 min SPX, you see the obvious abc, and was a cycle buy do at the lows there. again. MA pinch on 60 min, abc and cycle buy on 30 min supported that bounce

    here's an example on my

here's an example on my indicators showing TSLA - you can see the MA ribbon squeezes on the 120 min time frame, but also cycle buy occurred there too. Then on on the faster 60 min time frame you had a cycle buy around 874.  That was last week of course

anyway just showing methods I use and ways I look at those indicators so when I do start showing them on the ZOOM you can look for the same things.

heck maybe I'll do a class in the future on it, a trading class - give homework and stuff LOL

    Matt, maybe I am missing

Matt, maybe I am missing something.  I have often seen the start/end Bull/Bear Cycles on some of your charts; but, I don't see any of these as overlays in Stockcharts; or, any discussion in BPT Education section.  Are these custom?

    Just pinging this topic.

Just pinging this topic.   I hear you talk about "cycle low" in the newsletter, but I don't understand what these are referring to.   Is it just the name of an indicator or something more fundamental?  I did do a search but couldn't find an explanation.  Thanks!

    Yes, would you mind sharing

Posted by matt on 10th of Jun 2020 at 11:37 am

I'm not doing the Zoom thing today guys, like I said I need to move that computer to another room, I need to hook up a mic for times I want to talk and point out things at times, and also figure out what I'll show etc.  Plus I need to learn Zoom better.  anyway not today, I'll probably get that setup on weekend and stuff. I might try to throw it up on Friday though

great tool Matt/ Is there any way we can get your programmer to do this on TOS or trading view or worst case on stock charts. ( I dont mind paying him for his time if this is not something  that he routinely does)

    Thanks Matt.   What criteria

Thanks Matt.   What criteria do you use to exit the trade?
