So regarding these systems: it looks like the Breakout sub
system is triggering on both SPY and ES. I'll be the first to
tell you I don't love it here and think it's higher risk, but since
I haven't taken the systems offline I feel like I have to post it.
Also the very natural of this trade is to buy breakout overbought
conditions not pullbacks. Anyway here's the stats on SPY. the
ES version has quite a bit better stats honestly. The trade
would also get stopped out on a bad trade vs just holding like that
bad Trend/Pullback trade. SPY for the ETF and options would
be Aug 21st 296, that's pretty far out but no options for
July 30th, though there are for SPX
ES bounced back about 15 points after the cash market closed, so
while the SPY version did not trigger the ES one did trigger as ES
closes at 5 pm EST vs the cash market at 4 pm. Good stats,
guess we'll just see how that one plays out.
correction the ES breakout trade actually went long on Tuesday
and NOT today. It closed out today in fact for a small
profit.
This is the problem with Tradestation and ES. The trade
didn't show up until I hard refreshed the chart. Basically in
Tradestation particularly for ES I have to hard refresh the data
daily otherwise that kind of crap can happen
so here's the chart - again the ES breakout actually went long
on Tuesday, closed out today. So disregard the post earlier
where I said it went long today that's not correct
