Over 10 Million Americans Applied For Unemployment Benefits In March As Economy Collapsed - The past two weeks have erased nearly all the jobs created in the past five years, a sign of how rapid, deep and painful the economic shutdown has been on many American families.

on a side note I have a slight fever, headahe, slight sore throat. I haven't been anywhere been home for a few weeks now so I doubt it's the Covid 19, but who the heck knows. Will continue to monitor the situation. For now I'm a bit run down and tired.

I used to get chronic Strep throat once a year, so could be that.  I'll keep ya posted.

MATT,  since you have a sore throat and headache and fever, no known COVID exposure, but a history of recurrent strep throat, AS A DOCTOR, I would suggest you get a strep test ASAP since it is so treatable and responds quickly. I it’s negative, then you should consider other options.  You hope you feel better soon!

Sounds like a plan!  Our C tests are taking up to 10 days to come back from Labcorp! By then you are either well or dead! Waiting on the 13 minute new test by Abbott. That is what we need!  I don’t think you sound like COVID-19.

According to reports we tested over 1 million people so far in this country but received results back for only 50% of those tests. Great system we have working here in this country

Yes I actually bought a test kit, should be here tomorrow, it's the same test they use in many offices for Step.  Most places around here won't even test you for the C Virus unless you are really bad and have trouble breathing.  I know a buddy who thinks him and his family have it, they've had fevers for 5 days and doctors told theme they will not test them unless they have trouble breathing. So that highlights the need for these tests to be more widespread.

anyway if it is Strep I have prescription already for an antibiotic.  again I'll test myself tomorrow. If it is strep it tends to progress quickly - the previous times I've had it my fever would get close to 103.5 - 104, that's pretty high for an adult.  gotta tell you, when it's that high you can't function. Again I haven't been anywhere so I have doubts it's virus.

    Hey Matt, hope you're better

Hey Matt, hope you're better soon. Glad  you've got the test coming and you're already armed with antibiotics. It sounds like it's unlikely you've got the virus. Good luck and feel better soon! Take care of yourself.

    That's a staggering chart. Scary.

That's a staggering chart. Scary.  So what's a recession and what's a depression? Just asking for a friend.

The difference between Recession and Depression is the extent of the job losses.  The flippant answer is "when your neighbour loses their job, it's a recession; when *you* lose your job, it's a depression".

Re: difference between Recession and Depression -- I was kind of joking when I asked, but I did actually google it and basically it says over 20% unemployment = a depression (and that it needs to be an extended time). I promise you when we hit 20% in the coming weeks the press will not be calling it a depression. Since there is no real definition I think it's going to be a dealers choice -- call it what you want, but no matter what you call it it's a disaster.

    It is a scary chart.

It is a scary chart. I honestly never thought i would see anything like it. This makes 1929, 1987,  2000, 2008 look like a Sunday picnic.
