SPY System Trade List

    First off Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Secondly I had a typo on the trade lists, in the email I said buy 2 Feb 20th Puts 320 Strike but on the table yesterday I had 322.  I changed that to 320 to reflect the email. Great trade from the Breakout system which closed out 133 point gain on the SPX! I'm really looking forward to  a very profitable next year with the combined SPY and ES systems and perhaps some other systems products like my ES 60 min system which I could offer an auto execution service as well.

also funny here's an image from my 2013 Newsletter I sent on Thanksgiving way back in the QE days. I guess we are sorta back in those days again LOL but obviously not Bernanke or Yellen

    Looking at the option trade

Looking at the option trade list, there are two "2nd entry Pullbacks" on 8/5/2019 but with different exit dates.

    What happened there?

    Hope you had a great

    Matt, in order to trade

Posted by chapgolf on 29th of Nov 2019 at 11:05 am

Matt, in order to trade the upcoming system, I want to make sure I have the accounts needed.  I have a stock and  futures account at TradeStation.  I need to open an options account as well.  I know many option traders prefer Think or Swim for options but since the only option trading I will be doing is the SPY system, would TradeStation be a good platform to use as well?  I am trying to keep it as simple as possible by having all my trading accounts under TS.  If I am trading the options, I suppose using the etf''s can be reserved for my 401k since I cannot trade options in my 401k and just use options for my regular trading accounts?

    I would not trade anything

I would not trade anything in TS: it is the worst piece of software I have seen. Why would anyone put any money into something that could crash on a dime?

    TS can have issues with

TS can have issues with tick data causing it to freeze if one uses a lot of tick and renko type charts. In my observation if one uses standard minute and daily charts it's fine.

I know plenty of traders who day trade stocks with it just fine and they would not tolerate freezes if it occurred to them.  So for that stuff it's fine

    Yes, TS version 10 frequently

Yes, TS version 10 frequently decides to refresh its data at random, and the entire application freezes for a half an hour at a time. Good luck doing a trade at that time.

    Again I know plenty of

Again I know plenty of traders who are trading for pennies, they might buy 10 or 20K shares of a $10 stock at $10 and sell it for $10.03, 3 pennies, fast execution is paramount, if they had any pauses or freezes would cost them 1000's, it doesn't happen to them with stocks trading 5 min charts.

again guys Junkie has all sorts of exotic chart types, indicators, systems that are prone to freezing, which again is a Problem

for those of you trading minute charts, or options there will not be an issue.

enough said about this let's move on to other topics

    I have not traded options

Posted by matt on 29th of Nov 2019 at 11:33 am

I have not traded options in TS so I don't know if it's any good, however I know that TOS is great for options as options are the product it's focused on and optimized for years so that platform may be a better choice if you don't mind having multiple accounts. That said TOS is best if you want to explore other option strategies such as straddles, ladders, iron condors bull/bear put spreads etc which some of these one could probably utilize with the SPY system trades to protect profits or reduce risks on certain trades.  I don't get into all that but I think it's something that's untapped with the SPY system and something you option experts could focus on.

Otherwise if you only wanted to do the option trades I send out and nothing more exotic, then any broker should be fine.

    I am exploring other option

I am exploring other option strategies for the SPY system and they seem to work well. Unbalanced flies, vertical spreads so far.

    here's the new table, I
