sorry guys have some annoying news. The SPY system which I
said would be exiting this morning at the close DID NOT? My system
was showing an exit for today yesterday but when the opening bell
hit it was not there. I refreshed TS and it was not out, that
took 10 min or so and is why I couldn't post on the open, TS is
slow at times and I have to refresh all the charts. Anyway I
realize this is annoying if you sold already, so what to do: I
suppose you would buy back but with very tight stop, or just stay
out of the trade. Also the system now shows an exit for
tomorrow. morning so it may be better just to stay flat.
I've seen this only a couple of times in the past, what I think
happens is that the exchange changes the official close on SPY by a
few pennies, which can change a signal. That's with the exchange
not TS or the system.
I will count this morning as the official close of the trade
since that's what I said yesterday, however I just wanted to relate
that it didn't actually get out if anyone was still in the
trade.

Ok so I'm not crazy. Seemed like the system never got the sell
signal after the actual SPY settlement data. So if it's still long
does it make sense to at least track it for the sake of the
system?
In Matt’s post on Feb 15th at 9:48am, he said did mention the
exit signal was not there for the open that day. But in that
same post, he did say that the system did show an exit for the
following day. Since he didn’t report another issue with the
system signal, my assumption was that the system actually did exit
on the 16th. For the statistics of the system and for those
who were still in the trade, the open of the 16th was a little
better than the open of the 15th.

Correct but many times a signal present during one day is gone
by the end of the day, so who knows if that one was still there the
following day, Feb 16th
Posted by soldado1976 on 20th of Feb 2018 at 06:42 pm
Correct but your wording in the post the morning after sounded
like the signal did not hit and you were just closing it out
anyways.
To me it sounded like the trade was still long but the odd
signals just made you want to close it out anyway. You
mentioned there was no signal to close the next day when you
refreshed the trade was not closed out. So is it still long?
Yeah, but he said that was a mistake. The system was still
long as of this morning, and at the time of his post at 9:48am, he
said it showed an exit for tomorrow. Just wondering for
those of us who did not exit this morning, is the true exit
tomorrow morning or not?
I got ya. Glad to hear you did not SELL at the open
today...would have missed a great day! BTW, Matt's post at
3:42 pm yesterday said to go to cash at the close or the open
today,
No, didn't sell the SPY system but got absolutely killed by XIV
last week. So, small victories having held through today, but
I have much to make up for bagholding XIV. That said, I still
believe in the SPY system and will continue to follow it, just
friggin unfortunate what happened.
