The 5 highest dividend yields in the Dow at the end of 2015
were VZ, CAT, CVX, XOM, and IBM. At the time that I calculated
their YTD performance a few minutes ago on a buy and hold basis, VZ
was up +14.15%, CAT was up +33.19%, CVX was up + 18.65%, XOM was up
+15.00%, and IBM was up +12.97%. An equal weight investment in all
5 for the year would average around 18.79%.
By applying the new Spy Pro LONG trade dates to these same
stocks:
VZ is up 26.24%, CAT is up +46.82%, CVX is up +35.66%, XOM
is up +23.80%, and IBM is up +44.47%. An equal weighting here is up
about +35.40%.
The Dow is up approx +4.60% YTD on a buy and hold
basis
