Hi everyone,
I found something tonight I thought I should share it with
everyone...I'm amazed I didn't see this one sooner. Last year, by
looking at urls from various stockcharts charts, I posted on the
blog I could add to urls &cmd=print to view minute charts that
were posted by stockcharts members (but non-stockcharts members
like me did not have access to them). Well there's another way to
view customizable minute charts by simply modify the URL from a
daily chart to get minute charts.
Taking a simple example from Steve's newsletter today:
Plus you get to keep all the original indicators from the daily
chart. You can play around with the period, and time length
parameters (yr, mn, dy) for more fun !
I also used minute charts with the &cmd=print at the end.
You can still use them by modifying the same parameters and keeping
the &cmd=print at the end.
Example SPX 120 min chart over 4 months and 25 days posted by
Steve in tonight's newsletter
How to view minutes charts on stockcharts - revisited

Hi everyone,
I found something tonight I thought I should share it with everyone...I'm amazed I didn't see this one sooner. Last year, by looking at urls from various stockcharts charts, I posted on the blog I could add to urls &cmd=print to view minute charts that were posted by stockcharts members (but non-stockcharts members like me did not have access to them). Well there's another way to view customizable minute charts by simply modify the URL from a daily chart to get minute charts.
Taking a simple example from Steve's newsletter today:
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=VIMC&p=D&yr=0&mn=6&dy=14&id=p32749535450&a=334061825&listNum=59
In the url, after VIMC, &p is the period. Can be W (weekly), D (for Daily), 120, 60, 30, 5, etc where numbers represent minute charts.
Then you can change the time range that will be shown on the graph (yr, mn or dy). Keep the rest of the address the same.
For example, by simply modifying parameters from the daily chart above, I make a VIMC 60 min chart over 0 month 14 days would become
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=VIMC&p=60&yr=0&mn=0&dy=14&id=p32749535450&a=334061825&listNum=59
Another example with 5 min chart over 3 days
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=VIMC&p=5&yr=0&mn=0&dy=3&id=p32749535450&a=334061825&listNum=59
Plus you get to keep all the original indicators from the daily chart. You can play around with the period, and time length parameters (yr, mn, dy) for more fun !
I also used minute charts with the &cmd=print at the end. You can still use them by modifying the same parameters and keeping the &cmd=print at the end.
Example SPX 120 min chart over 4 months and 25 days posted by Steve in tonight's newsletter
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$SPX&p=120&yr=0&mn=4&dy=25&id=p14821111223&a=299939826&listNum=61&cmd=print
can be changed to a 60 minute chart over 14 days like this
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$SPX&p=60&yr=0&mn=0&dy=14&id=p14821111223&a=299939826&listNum=61&cmd=print
Amazing, I don't need to ask around for minute charts anymore ! Hope this will be useful.
