Cover your OIH trade - I said all week, when in doubt, get out,
cover it.
OIH is weaker than XLE, however I"m not sure why anyone would be
in XLE since I've always stated that it's
been historically more profitable trading OIH vs XLE
OK I understand. Otherwise clearly I botched that system
trade - as I said in my Monday update and last night, technically
the system would have went back long last Thursday but I missed it
and because it was the weekend I gave everyone the choice to either
cover or hold the short longer if they wished, or go long per the
system. I realize that a system is not supposed to be
ambiguous like that, and I promise that futures trades will not
be.
Otherwise my thought for the long now is that XLE will go higher
in some kind of 5th wave and make new highs, but by the time the
system gives the next sell signal, the long trade will have given
all it's gains back too (of course that's non system analysis and
just complicates the issue.
My advice on Monday's XLE / OIH update was to either cover and
go to cash, or hold it for a little longer if you wanted, or go
long. I mentioned this on Tuesday and last night as well.
the next system trades will be by the book, by the system and no
more of this ambiguous crap. I apologize for the
confusion on all this, it started because I missed my long signal
last Thur and it was the weekend when I noticed it too late.

I am curious, what was the main trigger for a buy signal on XLE last Thursday a RSI 8 closing above 50%? MACD?
