I assume you are referring to the pop up alerts on the blog,
once you hit close alarm they go away. I kind of doubt those
are affecting your computer, they are very light load. Also
the blog auto refreshes, that uses more resources then those pop
ups.
I'd say restart your computer, clear out your cache, and maybe
even look at a new computer, it should only slow your computer down
if you have a 10 your old computer etc.
Also try updating your browser and your flash and Java.
Personally I like Chrome, it works best for me, but also the
new IE works fine
I don't see close alarm button (I used reset alarms instead). It
helped a bit but system is still very slow. I cleared out cache and
browser is IE(new one).
