you guys are killin me! My 6yr. old
grandson can read the words "buy" and "sell" If an email gets sent
to you with one of those words and you don't understand what it
means, honestly, you really don't belong here. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
LEAVE MATT ALONE! GET AN ENGLISH TUTOR!
Jim -- We've been advised that ultimately the emails will only
say to check the site and not say to buy or sell.
Secondly I have seen emails substantially delayed by
the delivery process and I would not want to rely on them for such
time critical info anyway.
Please try to be more civil. This whole communication system is
getting worked out -- Matt just recently deliberately stimulated a
lot of discussion and suggestions. He wasn't asking to be "left
alone" -- he was looking to make the process run as smoothly as
possible without confusion. If people are finding that having to
continually navigate back to the Current Trade as the close
approaches is awkward then I would think the BPT team would want to
know that. Personally I hope the "Sticky with Standard Phrases at
the top of this page" is the way they go, but they will let us know
in good time.
My apologies. I was a little uncivil in my sarcastic
remarks. I just don't see any other way of communicating. We have
email, SMS texting, or personal phone calls to 500 people. Our only
other alternative is to monitor the blog half hour or so before the
close. The latter would seem to me to be about the only sure fire
way to find out if we need to take action or not. The action we are
to take per the system seems to be worded pretty simply, and I'm no
genius. Anyway, I am sorry for my post, just seemed everyone was
getting a little silly that's all. No more bashing. I will just
watch and ask questions if I need to.
Good luck BKout3, I have been here for quite a while, and
you seem to be one of the very bright ones who post here.
I understand this is a user posting page for Spy System
customers. Sarcastic remarks from several BPT users, such as,
"...
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? LEAVE MATT
ALONE! GET AN ENGLISH TUTOR!" and "...Maybe he could enter
the trade for you, too." are a disappointment. If this the
culture of this user community, I'll send my questions to BPT
privately.
I would appreciate a comment on this state message board
incivility from the operators.
I've sworn to not get into these discussions anymore, but I have
to say --
flloyd -- people are reacting to your post because its
silly. You subscribe to a system that issues trade alerts
when there is a trade signal or potential trade signal that
day.
Now you are asking for alerts to tell you that there will be no
alert! People are just reacting to how ridiculous that
is.
I wasn't meaning to be funny or to be uncivil to
floyd.
The system takes maybe 15 trades a YEAR. You can't expect
to get a message every day saying there will not be a trade.
I'm just pointing out that you can't post something as silly as
that and not expect people to react to it.
To be fair to Floyd, he didn't mean that we should get a message
every day there isn't a trade. I think that he meant that on
those days when a possible trade has been announced a subsequent
message could be sent cancelling the alert.
What I meant was, on those days when it may be clear to system
operators that there is no possibility, whatsoever, of a buy or
sell signal being generated, it would a courtesy to subscribers if
a short email informed us of this so we could be untethered from
sitting at our computers at the close on those days. However,
for all I know this no-trade day situation may rarely or never
occur. It may be that the system is likely to trigger a trade
signal every trading day. To me the Spy System is a black
box. I don't know. It was just an idea I thought might
be beneficial to system subscribers.
On the issue of posting board civility, this resource can be as
good or as bad as the users' behavior. We set the bar.
Floyd, it's appears from your post that you may not fully
understand the frequency of trade triggers for this system.
Matt's system generates around 12-20 trades per year.
That's 300 days every year, give or take, that don't
require any action to be taken.
If you don't want to be tied to your computer at the close I
would suggest using the sms service to your mobile phone. You
can use telephone banking with most brokers to enter trades.
Even if you miss the actual 4pm close you can enter trades on
SPY, and leveraged ETFs, after hours until 8pm EST.
Worst case scenario, enter the trade the next day.
Remember this system is for swing trades, not day trades. If
the trade is to be held for several weeks, the difference may still
be minimal.

I find your posts disappointing. You cite concerns about having
to refresh your browser. You want emails on off days
telling you to do nothing.
Take responsibility for your part in this. We couldn't be given
an easier task:
Receive email (that happens automatically), read email (straight
forward), visit SPY thread (yes, it will require a few mouse
clicks), complete instructions as directed (probably more mouse
clicks required).
You should spend less time being offended and concerned with
fellow posters and focus on the task at hand.
Respectfully submitted,
Jon
