they wouldn't have needed a bailout if they had only guaranteed
bank deposits. the politicians had no idea of the extent of the
depth of depravity those banks had gotten themselves into.
obviously the government had not done any DD, thus by guaranteeing
all of the debt of the banks (bonds et al. they doomed the country
entire financial foundation). Portugal will be a quick fix,
Spain will be the Euro countries quagmire and a big boost for the
dollar and hard assets (think gold and canned goods) come sometime
in 2011.
the only irish with any balls are the IRA. the rest are
potato eaters and beer drinkers. of course, the culture did
spawn some qualified intellectuals to whine about all the terrible
british injustices over the years (shaw, swift, wilde, etc.) for
the most part they are much like the sheep which dot their
landscape. and they are about to be shorn. NB: "this message

jb - a lot of the so called 'sectarian violence' perpetrated by
the differing factions, such as the IRA and the UDF were commited
by none other than the British secret service. I urge you to read
this book...
i had a friend of mine who was arrested for smuggling weapons to
the IRA from south boston in the 80's. he did ten years. i
don't doubt that there were/are provocateurs, as there are in any
legitimate resistance movement. i will give a look to the book.
thanks for the referral
A - There was no shot heard around the world (Concord
Bridge-Revolutionary War); there was no Ft. Sumter (US Civil War);
there was no un-restricted submarine warfare (WWI); there was no
Pearl Harbor (WWII); there was no invasion of the South (Korean
War); Vietnam grew like a cancer...no one knew about it, no one
suspected it, no one even worried about it (matter of fact no one
even heard of the place...nor could they even pronounce the name
properly)...it just happened!
