I use TDAmeritrade for a broker with Ninja Trader for charting and mechanical trading.  I have had problems with how Ameritrade handles the second crossover of the day, it will not get me into a new postion.  I have also had some problems with the data for Ninja charts with some of the ETF's.  Can anyone tell me if you are having good luck with another broker.  Thanks

Mechanical Systems

Posted by mwelch22 on 26th of Jan 2009 at 11:34 am

I have been running the mechanical systems on Ninja with TDAmeritrade as the broker.  I am able to enter and exit the initial positions fine but if there is more than one cross over in a day it will not get me into the new position.  Just wondering if anyone has gotten this to work with TDAmeritrade?

I also was wondering if any one has a ninja strategy that will run these mechanical systems and if for example the system calls to short SRS and there are no shorts available it will enter you long in to URE.  Maybe this is a little complicated but it you can't get into the all the positions of the system the statistics will not work out.

Wondering if anyone knows if

Wondering if anyone knows if the SSO mechanical system EMA's have been optimized from the original 16 and 34 EMA to the 16 and 39 EMA?  Maybe I missed the change.

Does anyone know if there is a PSAR indicator for Ninja Trader or where I could find it.  Thanks

When there are no shorts available for SRS or SKF what can you go long to replace them?

Money Management

I am using the mechanical systems and am wondering if anyone has some advice on Money Management.  I have read about the fixed fractional and fixed ratio methods to calculate position size.  Any comments or info would be appreciated.  Thanks

Very well said, I have taken big losses today but that it part of the deal.  I am running the strategies on Ninja and had a sell signal on SRS (9,39 EMA) cross right at the market open.  It appeared that the crossover took place Friday on the last 15 min bar and triggered at the open this morning.  Did this happen to anyone else?

What are your thoughts on PDII and CRXX?  I recieve a news letter and they have been recommended.  They believe that biotech is ready to make a major move which has started.  I am new to the site and am just learning the technical side.  Any thought would be appreciated.  Thanks
