The community is delayed by three days for non registered users.

I did read them carefully.

The fast and slow MA's are the same. The only thing that is different is the % gain and the timeframe.

If I started in Jun 2008, I would only be 15% behind in total gain vs starting Jan 2008.

Since it is the same system, the gains would have been identical from June 2008 to current. This clearly means the profit was 15% betwween Jan 2008 and June 2008.

Tell me how that is an incorrect assumption?

New SRS System Matt/Steve - Thanks

New SRS System

Matt/Steve - Thanks for the new systems.

A couple quick questions:

I noted that the profits between Jan 1, 2008 and May 31, 2008 were only 15% cumulative. I came up with this from the chart provided, 617% vs 602% for the various timeframes? Is this correct?

Also - will BPT be providing a real time page? I use Stockcharts which doesn't have 3 or 6 min charts. Can anyone suggest where I can obtain 3 min charts?

Thanks,

Jon

Thanks Ravun

SRS Swing

Posted by kingpin777 on 2nd of Jun 2009 at 08:57 pm

Matt/Steve - do you have chart for the SRS swing system which we can use to compare to the EOD system?

I trade off the 60 min chart. Here is mine.

I've looked at the monthly as well and noted the 38% retracement plus the downtrend line.

Thanks for your comments.

I would love some feedback on this chart (Ravun, Matt, Steve, others)

Bearish rising wedge - Black Lines. I could have drawn the lower black support line starting at the beginning of the rally in March. However, that line would only have a couple touches with price. The line as it is drawn has numerous touchpoints and is more valid.

Target of the wedge break over time would be 7900 based on my projected break. The projected break could happen higher or lower.

Check out Bollinger Band indicator at the bottom. Getting very low. Check out the last few times the BB width fell that low.

End of Dec - 1100 point gain, Early Feb - 1500 point fall, Early May - 1100 point gain

It doesn't feel like this pattern is possible at this point but I am just charting what I see.

I would love to see this happen as it would represent a successful retest of the lows. Clearly this pattern would take many weeks to play out if it does at all.

Thoughts?

I just read through the premium content.

Quick question about confirming candles. I get that you buy at the close of the confirming candle.

Confirming candle is defined as the period/candle during which the ma's crossed.

I had always been under the impression that the proper type of candle was required for confirmation. So if we look at going long SRS, the confirming candle must be white indicating the price closed above where it opened. Is this not required?

In some cases the ma's cross but the candle closes red with the ma's still crossed.

Canadian Automated Trading

For the Canadians out there who are running automated systems, how are you doing it?

Ninja trader? And if so, what brokerage are you using?

Interactive brokers trades seem expensive if you're trading a lot of shares.

I appreciate any feedback you can provide.

Yes, I noticed that. Look

Yes, I noticed that. Look for a breakthrough of the downtrend line and an m.a. cross.
