interesting Ditch, cause just noticed the 5min rsi 14 dipped below 70, now if the stoch 60 would just follow and dip below 80. trend  up days are so tough to short.

FYI - observations on the FED's prospective treasury purchases. 46% of purchases the next 6 months will be in maturities of 5.5 - 10 years. which is known as a 'duration' match to the majority of issuance of mortgage backed securities. basically they will be trying to keep mortgage rates low or even lower (IMHO targeting 3% mortgages would be within the realm of possibility). only 4 % of their purchases will be in the 17 - 30 years range, which will lead to a further flattening of the yield curve to ~15 years. thus wider spreads from 10 - 30 years on the horizon. keeping long term rates ( 10- 30 years) low will be secondary to the low rates on shorter maturities. this infers 50% of purchases will be in maturities under 5 years. T bill rates of .11% will continue to be the norm as will 1.5% or lower 1 year cd rates. Inflation concerns are booted down stream, FOMC continue to battle fears of deflation or more logically disinflation. bottom line, without any' flight to quality' fears, inverse bond ETF's could well outperform. IMHO. hope you found some of this useful. Bottom line, don't fight the FED.

Matt, could you show an updated chart 17 from last nite, trying to figure out where I went wrong this am with entry. held it thru the dip, and then trailed stop for nice profit, but want to see your chart vs mine. thx

all I can do is watch in sadness as my profits evaporate. that's the trouble with doing a trade in an IRA account, can sell until it settles.... at least I didn't add to the position.

AVNR upgrades by street moving tgts from 9 to 15.  if only I could believe them, I do expect short squeeze to get traction today, holding full position until tomorrow at least.

Fixdgear, Jgoregon and others, just want to say THANKS for reminding me about AVNR around $2.7 midweek, as always, wished I bought more, but I'll be happy with what I have. now, if only it would do the same levitation trick as DNDN. 

fwiw, the McClellan Osc. change from last nite was 0.04. don't recall seeing a change that small recently, small changes often presage a big spx move either next trading day or following date. IMHO
