I mentioned it 2 or 3 weeks ago. It's part of a Rare Earth
Element group that are currently breaking large pennent patterns.
This one however may need to consolidate some before it
breaks out higher. I'll buy more at 1.65 and on a pull back to
1.60.
maybe you should buy a little with a stop loss. then add to it
as it strengthens. That's what I am doing with the XGD.TO. I use
the GDX for my signals as well.
I hold WLC.V. It was mentioned here today, I plan to keep it. I
also like Avalon Rare Metals AVI.TO. It's looking attractive right
in here. Also James Dines is bullish on REE stocks.
Maybe the market is expecting U.S. interest rates to rise sooner
than originally expected. At some point it would seem logical and
the dollar may be viewed as a good bet.
'Bit of a learning curve....! I think we all know
where we stand with Breakpoint. I've made the best trades of my
life while in association with this website
Has anyone here thought at least once in the past 5 years or so
that Dubai was on a crash course. Could there have been a better
example of unsustainable excess? Long term market timers would view
Dubai and it's palm leaf island and world nation island condo
developments as evidence of fools blowing their wad at the market
top. Just cause the Arabs are rich doesn't mean they are smart. I
believe that "Dubai" will be remembered in the same light as Canary
Warf.
Once this little top is actually in.... I would keep it and buy
more on the way up. If it pulls back, I would buy more. Keep your
stop just below the low. If price gets close... buy more. If price
crosses your stop............ then fold and move on.
I initiated a short on the spx yesterday at the close. I hope it
is the beginning of a good sized position. My stop is quite tight
on this first batch. It's a little like top picking but my risk is
pathetically low. If we break near term support I'll add to it. If
it makes another divergent high, then the roll over will be that
much nicer.

All we can do is place the stops at levels that make sense to us. Some get triggered, some don't. The only time to be greedy is with a tight stop.

I posted this first chart around the middle of the month. Dubai appears to have been a catalyst for the market and for me, it's kept me in this trade!
The first chart is what I expected to happen thanks to Breakpoint and the second chart is the current status of my position.
XSP.TO is the ishares Canadian equivelant to the S&P500.
