The shares you buy prior to the Ex Div are entitled to the dividend.  When you sell those shares post Ex Div but prior to the  adjusted Trading level your broker will deliver those shares to the Buy side Broker and the split shares will follow.  If the dates you posted are correct, the shares you sell will receive the Pre Split price.

my suggestion is to enter a Market Order (assuming there is a Trigger) as close to the CLOSE as the system you are using will allow...if your system takes for example 15 seconds to process an order, then click enter no later than 2:59:45.  This should give you a fill near the closing price

Matt, is there any chance you can post the old Sticky Charts somewhere.  I found the various time frames in that array extremely useful.  I know that you guys are swamped, but I for one would like to see them back.  Thanks for your great work.

Dynamic Links List?

I was just about to post them same query.  Is there no list today or are they in another section

I think you are SPOT ON in the projection that  the market is telling us  that what we face is a deflationary scenario.  The risk is for a DEFLATIONARY recession or at worse a DEPRESSION.  The nations of the world will try to reflate by printing massive amounts of paper.  Currencies are to be avoided and GOLD will be the store house of value.  Bill Gross yesterday on CNBC was talking about the 30 year treasury being attractive.  Isn't that an outlook for deflation?  However, my thought is that it will be two or three years down the line before that takes place, as the STIMULUS fails to turn things around.

Matt,

Has stock charts made any changes that you are aware of today?

I am a SC Basic Member and since joint BPT six months ago I have always been able to see your annotated charts on the links. Today I am not seeing charts with any annotations.

Anyone else with the same problem?

The mess in California

Cali on the Brink

Posted by alslayton on 30th of Jun 2009 at 03:55 pm

Leave it to the LA times to blame the whole problem on Prop 13.  The truth is that the esteemed legislators in California have spent more than they have taken in for the last 10 years.  The further truth is that up until the current recession, California did not have a revenue problem.  Revenues grew steadily but, expenditures grew more.

Prop 13 was voted in to protect homeowners from a legislature that looked to the property tax whenever it needed money, and was forcing older homeowners out of their homes.  The 2/3 requirement was put in to  further protect the taxpayers.

Property tax collections since enactment of Prop 13 have increased percentage wise more than the general revenues as property values have soared and property taxes are reassessed upon sale or transfer.

No the problem here in California is the old story of legislators spending $1.20 for every $1.00 they take in.  Sooner or later the piper has to be paid.
