Hello Matt, regarding the stochastic short, what are the
conditions of the system that makes it exit? Interesting we
are just about or did fill a gap, are oversold, and some of the
other systems are looking to go long....if that co-incides with
getting out of the Stochastic current short, would seem a powerfull
long signal
SDGR - Matt's comment that it has broke symmetry to the upside
and a higher low could be bought....hit 50% retracement with a
dojo, so looks interesting.
not sure how quantitative it is, but FTK is an example of a
whippy stock with lots of tails. They have a character prior
to their breakout. When I see that I know it needs the full
coil width for a stop, even if that forces me to trade less shares
(ie. less shares, bigger stop range) This has helped me
immensely. Good luck to all and Matt and Steve have been
killing it lately so big thanks.
I have really appreciated Goldnice's posts/pics. There is
always a pattern to support the pick. It's not just
uneducated guesswork. I hope the member continues to present
his/her opinion. Cheers.
As Steve would say "trade your system" :) you'll have to examine
what your system is for you. Some ideas are to hit twice of
what you are risking, this way over time you need to be right just
a hair over 25%. Another you can do is to look to sell prior
highs (in Bloom's case close to $18.50). If very bullish and
early in the breakout you could watch the 9ema for a cross of the
13 or 20ema. Just ideas for you. In the long run you'll
have to figure out what you can adhere to. Keep records!
after a while you will see what works, and more importantly give
you the confidence to trade and let the statistics take care of
your account. Good luck.
Gents - execution question here for experienced traders.
Having stop buy limit orders in on TSLA, and PRTS, and
getting blown right past my stop limit orders...has been
frustrating. There was plenty of room to fill these trades
(eg. PRTS was stop 9.01, limit 9.19 to fill) are some platforms
better than others at getting orders filled? I use IB Brokers
which I thought was about as slick and efficient as you can get.
otherwise, with these higher priced stocks like TSLA, should
I be dropping the limit?
Matt I'd really appreciate if you keep posting the systems.
Historically they have great returns, and we are all aware
the market is a little bit crazy these days. We could always
adjust our risk amounts. Thx.
a few years I studied Elliot Wave as the panacea for all
trading. What I learned after a while is that there is a
count...then if it doesn't work, there is a rule for that, like the
wave is subdividing etc. Then if that doesn't work there is
an alternative count etc. after a while I realized its quite
the crapshoot, and the rules are just made to fit about anything
that happens but is not great for predicting anything, other than
five waves up is impulsive and ABC's are corrective. If one
could take that away as a lesson...not too bad.
can people on board here share some of their watches....
beforethey blast off? Would be beneficial to everyone.
Bloom just a great example of that as a great pick.
Appreciative, but had never heard of it.
