Everyone is focused on getting

Posted by pkrsek on 19th of May 2023 at 03:54 pm

Everyone is focused on getting a debt ceiling deal done, and not necessarily what the consequences of a deal might be for markets. Check out this article from Bloomberg.com. Then check out the charts on my earlier post.   https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-05-18/a-1-trillion-t-bill-deluge-is-painful-risk-of-a-debt-limit-deal?cmpid=BBD051823_BIZ&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&utm_term=230518&utm_campaign=bloombergdaily&sref=UXL02xVT

Most people are focused on

Posted by pkrsek on 19th of May 2023 at 03:14 pm

Most people are focused on the resolution of the debt ceiling debate, without thinking about what comes next. In 2011 the debt ceiling debate was contentious, like it is now. The U.S. lost its AAA credit rating. There was fear of recession prior to the deal. Obama accepted a deal with extensive budget cuts. The stock market made the instant decision that it didn't like the deal. The S&P 500 lost almost 20% in a few weeks. Gold and long term bond prices rocketed up. Could history repeat itself. Some think so.

Sensationalism sells!

Thanks for all you do!

Huge losses in their bond

Banks/Financials

Huge losses in their bond portfolio. Net interest margin squeeze. Shrinking deposits. If it's happening to them it is likely happening to others, although this bank tends to be more aggressive than most others.

SIVB getting slaughtered today. FRC,

SIVB getting slaughtered today. FRC, KBE, XLF all down big. Wondering if this will be the trigger for a much larger retreat for the broader market.

This looks like a potentially

This looks like a potentially important day to me. Rising trend from October low broke down, recovered, and is now breaking down again. There are a lot more experienced and savvy traders in this community than me. I'd appreciate any comments that Matt, Steve, or members might have.

NYMO negative histogram also been playing out

Posted by pkrsek on 17th of Feb 2023 at 11:43 am

Thank you!

Matt, I've never been able to find this NYMO histogram chart in Stockcharts. Is there a setting for it? did you create it yourself? how do I duplicate it? thank you.

So far nothing has been able to stop this rally, even today's inflation print.  Most major indexes are approaching overbought, on daily charts, but they all have room to run up more before hitting the tops of their bollinger bands.  The QQQ, SPY and IWM all got "9" sell signals on DeMark charts several days ago and still hover near those same levels. the DIA got a "13" sell signal in late November 2022. It's bounced  up and down a bit since, but is currently right back at that same level. I'm having a very hard time finding anything to buy, but I've been pretty unlucky with shorts. Therefore I'm just sitting and waiting.

Steve, have a great vacation!

Matt, how do you create this chart? I'd like to be able to save it and follow it daily. thank you, Paul Krsek

My Irish grandparents used "Marlarkey" and "stick in the mud" a lot

Matt, where do you see

Posted by pkrsek on 1st of Nov 2022 at 11:25 am

Matt, where do you see the DeMark 13? I subscribe to the Symbolik website. I use Sequential and Combo 1b and Combo 2b. I don't see a 13. I do see 9's on all three systems. they appeared four days ago. I like DeMark, but i have found that their systems are all slightly different. Thanks very much, Paul Krsek
