This is not a trading story but a fundamental story and that is
what I was pointing out in my orig. post. AMRZ is the largest
cement supplier in North America. Insider buying has been
extraordinary and now interestingly enough after the Q2 earnings
miss, those insiders are underwater w/their shares. Whether
it's building AI data centers or infrastructure/housing in this
country, at some point, cement will be needed.
hi gaston, I sent you an email to reach out to set up a
conversation to discuss this and how you can utilize BPT in the
best way. pls check your email, thanks.
I'm not saying the USA has that option, Matt asked the question
of what the article meant and I replied by saying that I believe
that is what Trump meant by his statement. My background is
economics and history and I can mention Triffin's Dilemma. It
was inevitable that the USA would run into this problem. A country
that has the reserve currency of the world needs their currency to
settle their own trade balances and also print extra so that the
world can conduct business with it. Over time, they print
more and more and the status of the reserve currency comes into
question as it becomes unsustainable. Reagan said deficits
don't matter, and they didn't. But now mathematics is making
it matter. We also ran into Ferguson's Law in recent years-
interest expenditure exceeding military spending. Look at the
Portuguese, the Dutch, the French, the Spanish, the British, all
former reserve currencies and in some way shape or form they ran
into this issue. Also, the Chinese are not interested in
making the yuan the reserve currency because they will also run
into Triffin's Dilemma. There won't be a dominant currency in the
future; they are already settling oil w/yuan using gold as
collateral. It's a multi polar world.
He's probably trying to say that as the reserve currency of the
world, because the USA controls SWIFT and how the dollar flows,
because the USA has military bases around the world and has
controlled the shipping/trade lanes for decades (that's what the
Hormuz conflict is partially about), the USA has the power to make
countries buy Treasury bonds (the dollar). That's what Bessent
meant when he said we will grow our way out of debt. Keep
issuing bonds but someone needs to buy them besides us which is
what has been happening recently. In the past it was Europe,
Saudi Arabia and China, but now no other big region/superpower is
stepping up to buy it, so one option is to use the US military to
pressure countries.
There are warning signs for the equity market for sure.
Although the price trend is still up, things like the
$NYSI 9 ema,
% stocks above 50 ma,

near-term.
Amrise, which hasn't been discussed on this site (I have a
position) and doesn't have a lot of history because it's a
spin-off...but I wanted to highlight that the insider buying has
been nothing but extraordinary. I had Claude look into it and
here's what it says about the insider buying: "Amrize Ltd
(AMRZ) has seen one of the most aggressive insider accumulation
patterns of any large-cap stock in the past year, with
approximately $67 million in open-market purchases across 31
transactions by at least 9 different officers and directors since
its June 2025 spinoff from Holcim — and zero sales. Chairman and
CEO Jan Jenisch has personally led the buying with roughly $63.5
million committed across five separate transactions, including
~$2.35 million purchased as recently as mid-May 2026 at prices
around $49 per share. The cluster spans the entire C-suite: CEO,
CFO, CTO, President of Building Materials, Chief Supply Chain
Officer, Chief People Officer, General Counsel, Chief Strategy
& M&A Officer, and at least one outside director. With
insiders buying through both rallies and declines — and at average
prices between $46 and $58 against a current market price in the
mid-$50s — the pattern reflects deep, sustained conviction in the
company's long-term value rather than opportunistic trading."
Looking at the sectors- today is about Oil and a little of
Semi's; even UFO (Space) is down today. I personally added
NOG (Northern Oil and Gas) to my long term portfolio today.
It's very cheap.
We all need to relax. We're all squirrels trying to get a
nut. We're all trying to do the same thing. I'm not any
type of "guru" of trading. But what I can say is that I've
been trading since 1995 and I've survived. But would I
recommend trading to a someone who is not trading already?
No, LOL. But I'm too deep into it now that I don't know what
else to do.
Let's wait til the end of the week. A lot of the uranium
names were coming to life yesterday, so that factored into my
analysis. OKLO and SMR are also very volatile. But no,
it hasn't been easy, as I hinted at yesterday:
https://breakpointtrades.com/blog/post/480666/ The
pattern was also objective on
OKLO. Now it
broke back into the wedge, could be a fakey. At the end of
the day, unless one has insider information that I don't have, all
we can do as technical traders is to trade off of patterns.
$GVZ - Gold Volatility Index - contrast this w/the oil one;
metals are set up to rally but that haven't which has informational
value in it of itself (worrying); plus the $GVZ has lost its
long-term moving average
