Because we use these terms daily – and confusedly – Ned Davis
Research (as reported by Jeff Hirsch at the Stock Trader’s Almanac)
has elucidated and clarified the definition of a bull and a bear
market.
A cyclical bull market requires a 30% rise in the DJIA after 50
calendar days or a 13% rise after 155 calendar days. Reversals of
30% in the Value Line Geometric Index since 1965 also qualify. A
bear cyclical market requires a 30% drop in the DJIA after 50
calendar days or a 13% decline after 145 calendar days. Reversals
in the Value Line Geometric Index also qualify.”“Bull and bear markets are measured at peak and trough dates,
so both the time and price criteria must be met as of the peak and
trough dates.”
I trade QID and SQQQ. As far as S&P, I can get a quote on
all except ES. When I enter that into stockcharts, I get Evergreen
Resources( or something like that). What am I doing wrong?

Brilliant well done. At very important inflection points both
you and Steve happen to either be away from the computer,
have an internet problem or are sick.. Truth is you haven't a clue
where things are going and you second guess after the move has
already occurred.
Ive noticed several posts over the past several months. Seems
like some of you are on board here for an investment.
Maybe its best to be answered offline, But why is everyone so
excited about this stock? Technical or does someone have insight
into the longevity of the business.
Stocks under a dollar, escpecially under 50c tend to have a very
promotional share base, So i am trying to distinguish trade vs
investments.
Who wouldn't want to own a 25c stock on its way upto several
dollars. Just would like to know what it is and why its so
liked.
What if your trades are weekly. It is not secondary then as you
