Great option trade DigiNomad. Could you post an analysis(risk/reward) chart.

Thanks MLA. I have quite a few long term positions on URA, CCJ, UEC and UUUU. Taking quite a bit of a draw-down but also optimistic.

Actually watched The Big Short over the week-end  However I must admit my sympathies do lie with the momas and papas out there who will always be the losers!

This looks great Matt. how many of the ETF's have E-Macro contracts associated with them. It would be great if you could contine letting us know about potential trades before and after the market has closed. This will allow those of us in the Antipodes to prepare option trades before the end of our day.

My Uranium longer term positions

Posted by mundy on 6th of Mar 2023 at 04:21 pm

My Uranium longer term positions took quite a hit today! CCJ, URA, UEC and UUUU

Have had another look at the past 6-12  months of trading. Trading the system with futures(MES-ES and MNQ-NQ) has been twice as profitable as my option trades in the same  period. I hate mssing out on the long option trades on a signal like the bear long  Matt shows in the posting and do therefore trade debit spread options with expiry at least 60 days out. Any thoughts from the other option traders out thereon how to make the option trades more profiitable?

I am one of those

ES systems longs, bear long comments

Posted by mundy on 1st of Mar 2023 at 04:04 pm

I am one of those people, I concentrate on the SPY/ES systems for 90% of my trading. Learned a hard lesson 5 years ago where I tried to trade futures/options and forex.. Get back to basics. Find a system that works and do your doctorate on that system.

Hi Matt, I am looking

ES systems longs, bear long comments

Hi Matt, I am looking forward to the other ETF' s as well. However I would appreciate you keeping the SPY system as you have where we get signals on all the charts on SPY. Most of us have developed a trading plan to suit and have no problem with some being long and others short at the same time. Thanks

Please keep the present system of indicating during trading hours which possible trades there will be. For us in the Antipodes market close is what we work with. I understand the new method will be easier for US traders and I accept that.

You are a star Patellee. It is not easy to see the draw-downs and the DVDS system probably caused some sweaty palms. No luck involved, great Profit Factors on all the systems. Questions for you. 1. Do you do any other trading other than the SPY/ES systems? 2. Do you trade both options and ES-minis or macros. 3. Have you a trading account larger than $100k. 4. How do you manage margins. Are you very conservative or do you trade with a small margin? i used to allow $15k on the ES minis but am now quite a bit more conservative. Definitely do not want margin calls.

Thanks James, this makes it easy for us to prepare our option trades.

Guys, I have been trading

Posted by mundy on 21st of Feb 2023 at 07:07 pm

Guys, I have been trading the SPY system for many years and also use options. As I live in New Zealand I do not have the full trading day available to me. At best I get 3 hours in summer and 1 hour in winter to trade while the market is open. Steve always says what is your trading plan? Make sure you have one. For all of the newbies consider doing the following. If there is an early warning from BPT that one of the systems is going long(or short) immediately go to your trading platform and develop the trade you would like to use. Do not enter yet. James sent out an e-mail 40minutes before the market closed which should have given you enough time to prepare your trade, looking at risk/reward etc(I trade spreads). Obviously as the market moves even further down, the long position you have waiting will be more relevant. Make adjustments to the waiting trade. Sometimes i use the SPXL or the SQQQ and therefore enter the trade 2-3 minutes before market close. If I trade SPY or QQQ, I have an additional 15 minutes during which I can enter the trade. Just another comment, I do not trade many other positions other than the SPY/ES systems and therefore my day is not cluttered with too many other possible trades. TRADE LESS it works.

Taking today, the price kept dropping and therefore it was a no-brainer to enter the trade before James confirmed both 15 minutes after the market closed for the day.

i have shared my methods with quite a few of the newbies and I hope they were able to develop their own trading plans utilizing the SPY system from BPT.  Guys, these systems are reversion to mean. They do take large draw-downs by their very nature but the PROFIT FACTOR is phenomenal. If you stick to a STRONG trading plan you will also be able to succeed.

Again if anyone wants to contact me i would be happy to assist.

Looks very bullish to me, breaking out of the descending pattern started in Dec 2021.

I bought 2* MESH23 at 4080. I also bought 2* MNQH23 at 12278.  Target at 4158 on MESH23 just below the upper channel. On MNQH23 my exit has a bit to go to 12630, also below the upper channel line.

Yes happy chappy today. My trading plan worked like a charm. Exit iis at 4158 (just below upper channel line.

I do not agree it

SPY bear long

I do not agree it is a distraction. My trade plan is to enter on any such early e-mail notice. Often it gives me a very good trade into the end of the day. Keep doing what you are doing Matt, it works for many of us.

Hi All, I have to

ES DVDS short update

Posted by mundy on 6th of Feb 2023 at 05:24 pm

Hi All, I have to post this to especially newer members. These systems on BPT are phenominal. i did a heck of a lot of research in 2016-2019 into other possible systems available to be purchased. So many of them struggled to show PROFIT FACTORS of 2 or more. Many traders, especially bot traders work on systems between 2-3 and do well with them. They all look at max draw-down as their major stumbling block but accept sometimes a draw-down of up to 30%. Many of them also accept a LOSING YEAR and many losing trades. Obviously I dropped them all about two years ago and stuck to only trading the systems as well as longer term INDICES trades based on BPT Comms  board and/or daily newsletters. THE LESS I TRADE THE BETTER MY RESULTS.

We seldom see losing trades on BPT and whinge like hell when they do appear.

Learning to trade the systems isn't just get in, sit back and check your account doubling every 6 months. When most of us were offered the ES/SPY system back in 2014/15 we did not have the MES futures contracts available to us and had to accept the E-minis which has a factor of 10 compared to the ME-minis which most of us now use especially to hedge some trades which Matt so often warns us about. When he only takes a half a position, LISTEN and understand that the technicals short-term do not support what the longer term systems indicate.

Steve especially states that you have to have your own method of trading. I have shared some ideas with a number of newbies over the past year and I hope they have started finding their own way to go. Even if you have a large draw-down on this ES DVDS trade, suck it and see. Wait for the next signal which will probably off-set this one losing trade. Do not expect to be spoon-fed, Do your own diligence and especially understand the margins you are risking with every contract.

Thanks Heisenberg. When I try the options on UNG, Tastyworks blocks the order. But the trade on BOIL went through like a charm.

Thanks Junkie. What is CCS ? I presently trade the MNQ and the MES contracts with a margin of $2k. What are the NG futures like in terms of margin?

Tried to trade UNG today.

Tried to trade UNG today. Tastyworks blocked the trade as UNG is closed to non USA traders! What is the rationale behind the decision?
