BPT Mechanical Systems Alert

This is an alert about BPT Mechanical Systems:

Hello and good morning, hope you had a great Easter Weekend!

In the weekend newsletter on on the trading community I let the website know that one of the mean reversion systems took a 1st entry short on Good Friday morning (futures were trading but the cash market was closed), therefore clearly the trade alert was not emailed out.

As futures are higher, I'm issuing the alert now for a 1/2 position size i.e. -1 MESM26 futures contract.  Should we close higher today I may issue the 2nd contract.

As I stated on the weekend and if you've been taking the mean reversion systems trades, we still have open long positions on both SPY and MES futures, despite about 50% of them closing out last week.

So how would you take a short on an MESM26 futures contract if you are still long several contracts from the RSI oversold system or RSI 40?  Two options:

1. you could short the Sept contract MESU26.

2. you could simply sell one of your open MESM26 contracts, so for example if you are long 5 MESM26 contracts from the RSI Oversold system , you could sell one of them and be long net 4 until this short closes out or the RSI oversold system closes out. Basically treating it like a math formula where you add positive and negative numbers.

Matt
