For the day, the Nasdaq, Nas, S&P 100, Russell 2000, S&P 500, Russell 3000, and Russell 1000 dropped 0.3 - 0.6%. The S&P 400 posted a small loss, and the Dow posted a small gain. Intraday selling was not intense. These losses are not extreme, and volume was on the lighter side.

Among the groups, hotels, home construction, publishing, media agencies, broadcasting & entertainment, specialty chemicals, brewers, railroads, residential REITs, home improvement retail, and mortgage finance rallied more than 2%. Investment services, apparel retail, medical supplies, and drug retail dropped more than 1.5%.
