The Watch List:
The Watch List serves an idea generator.  We track the stocks by using a Triggered, Untriggered, and Completed approach.  The Untriggered stocks have been identified as potential trades but they have not reached the level which we have decided would initiate the trade.  Upon reaching the desired level on a closing basis, the stock is moved to the Triggered list.  At this point the stock will be followed and updated based on our market opinion on where we are looking to take profits and what we are using as stops.  Lastly, upon the stock either reaching our initial target, our stop or being closed based on new events; we move the stock to the Completed list and track the overall gain or loss for the position. 

The list can be used by many time-frames and by different traders.  For the Swing Trader, the Watch List was created with you in mind.  The stocks added are our favorite set-ups after scanning hundreds of charts.  The listed ideas come with breakpoints, price targets, stops and accompanying charts to visually pull it all together.  These trades, when triggered generally provide multi-day if not multi-week trades culminating in the trade being closed at our target price.  For those who are more short term oriented, the Watch List could provide a list of short term potential pops that will provide a high volume day trade.  You could trade the initial break looking for momentum to the upside or potentially trade the first pullback for continued follow through. 

Two of the most recent additions to the Watch List were audio voice alerts when a stock gets close to a break point and volume analysis.  The audio alert calls out the symbol as well as warns that a potential trigger is imminent.  The volume analysis tracks the volume today vs. the average volume over the previous 60 days.  Since we believe that volume is a key confirmation, we created the table to track the percentage between the current volume and the 60 day average so you can tell if today is on pace to trade more, at or under the average.

The Trading Community:
The Trading Community that we have created on the site greatly displays the value that BPT can bring to a someone managing their money.  Originally called The Blog, we changed the name because a blog implies that one party posts while the rest read but we created an interactive forum where all members can post ideas, links and chart patterns.  Not only does BPT management post their intra-day options but we will also comment on the posts made by all the members so you know exactly how we are looking to play a situation.  Have a question?  Post it on the board and receive input from BPT management as well as the other community members.  What this has allowed is a multitude of various ideas coming from various sources that span various trading styles.  I like to call it a trader's buffet.  If you can't find something here then you just don't know what you're looking for.

To further the idea of community we have added a multitude of robust features to provide more functions for the community.  This includes each member gets an Inbox where they can send and receive private messages from other members.  You can, with one click, save your favorite posts in file called My Favorites for easy referencing.  You can also view posts only pertaining to Commodities, Trade Ideas and other targeted Sections, or if you're like us and don't want to miss a thing, you can View All the posts that come through.  The Trading Community is a compilation of unique real time trading ideas along with a robust custom forum to provide members a profitable and enjoyable experience. 

Most importantly to us the community is built on respect and free from the constant bickering you find in many trading chat rooms.

The Mechanical Systems:
In looking for a more consistent way to take emotion out of the trading picture, we started developing Mechanical Systems.  The systems are currently made available to paying members in order to keep them relatively sacred, but otherwise we offer everything needed to implement these rule based trading systems into your trading portfolio.  Over a multitude of back-tested time frames as well as in our own trading experience, these systems have provided exceptional returns over some of the most volatile periods in the market.   

We have also made a commitment to continue to track and tweak, if necessary, the systems in order to continually provide a system that will produce consistent returns for someone who follows the rules judiciously.  While past performance is not indicative of future gains, our members and we have benefited greatly from these systems and currently we offer them free!

The Newsletters:
Quite possibly one of the most expansive and detailed market analysis which is posted each night Monday-Thursday and also again on Sunday night.  These newsletters start with long term charts on the Major Indices, since we believe that proper technical analysis involves first defining the long term trend.  From there our top-down analysis focuses on each Index & Major Sectors on multiple time-frames.  We then highlight specific stocks, generally also listed on the Watch List that we are focusing on as our "best bets".  The reader leaves with a long-term, medium-term and short term view on the markets.  Investors, swing traders and day traders can all use the Newsletter to focus their trading, key into the key aspects of the market and create a trading plan for the next day.

The Newsletters are deployed in video or in audio/text format so that you can follow along and see the charts while we comment on them.  To view a newsletter simply hover your mouse over the date and then select the pop-up verifying the date. 

The Market Lab:

The Market Lab serves many purposes to our members depending on their trading style and needs.  In the market Lab you will find long term charts with annotations on ALL the major Indices and their ETFs.  For the long term investor these charts will allow you to quickly track trends and locate the areas with the best charts.  The market Lab is also home to the website's customer indicators.  These indicators provide a unique view of the markets as well as some will even show ways to use the indicators to trade the markets.  Lastly the Market Lab acts as an area for education.  By searching through the section regularly, a member gains knowledge of the indices, the ETFs and technical analysis.
